Eagle Aim

Twin sisters, built in a lab and raised as weapons by a black ops program. They have never met. Their next mission: kill each other.

A YouNeek YouNiverse story. No prior reading required.

Mature readers Strong violence and language

Eagle Aim is an action thriller about twin assassins who discover they were made, not born. A new original graphic novel from creator Roye Okupe, coming to the YouNeek app.

A note on the art

Black and white. Blood in red.

Eagle Aim is drawn in black and white, on purpose. Inside, the only color you’ll see is red, and it’s saved for blood. For a story about twin sisters raised in the shadows, every scene plays out in hard light and deep dark, and every drop counts. It’s a look with a proud history, from Frank Miller’s Sin City and Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead to the manga millions of readers devour every week.

A black site. Somewhere classified. A pregnant scientist runs for her life with a flash drive in her hand, and the man who funded her research is right behind her. He takes her life. He keeps her unborn twins.

Twenty-three years later, those twins are the two most dangerous women on the planet, and neither knows the other exists. Mia, codename Shadow-1, is control made flesh: fluent in ten languages and emotionally available in none of them. LJ, codename Reaper-1, is everything Mia refuses to be: loud, reckless, and impossible to stop.

Then both receive the same kill order. Same warehouse. Same target. When the masks come off, Mia finds herself staring at her own face, and the program that built them both is already moving in to finish the job.

The real-world inspiration

Born in the twin capital of the world.

In Igbo-Ora, a small town in southwestern Nigeria, twins are born at one of the highest rates on Earth. Locals call it a blessing. Scientists call it a mystery. Eagle Aim asks a simple question: what if a covert program found the secret, and turned it into a weapon?

IbejiYoruba for “twins.” In Eagle Aim, it’s also a clue.

Questions about Eagle Aim.

What is Eagle Aim?

An original graphic novel from Roye Okupe: an action thriller about twin women engineered to be perfect weapons, who find out the truth about where they came from. Think Jason Bourne, Atomic Blonde and Salt, with the heart of a family drama.

When does it come out?

Soon, in the YouNeek app. Get notified and you’ll hear first.

Where can I read it?

In the YouNeek app, alongside every YouNeek series. You can read the first two pages right here, free.

Is it for kids?

No. Eagle Aim is for mature readers. It has strong violence and adult language.

Is Eagle Aim part of the YouNeek YouNiverse?

Yes. It takes place right before the events of E.X.O.: The Legend of Wale Williams, Vol. 1. It’s also a complete story on its own, so no prior reading is required. Start here, or read it alongside the rest of the YouNiverse.

Why is it in black and white?

Because the story calls for it. Mia and LJ were raised in the shadows, so the art lives in stark light and dark, and the only color is red, saved for blood. Black and white has a proud history in comics: Frank Miller’s Sin City (which made spot color famous), Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead, and manga like Berserk and Vagabond.

What inspired it?

Igbo-Ora, a town in southwestern Nigeria with one of the highest twin birth rates in the world. Eagle Aim asks what would happen if someone found the secret behind it, and turned it into a weapon.

Who made it?

Written and created by Roye Okupe (Iyanu: Child of Wonder, Malika: Warrior Queen). Art by Sunkanmi Akinboye (WindMaker, Malika).
